Local Lawyers Swatted

Local solicitors found themselves on the wrong side of the long arm of the law today, when a armed police unit stormed their offices, following a 'tip off' about a firearm.

The tip off turned out to be false and luckily both solicitors residing in the office were completely unharmed, along with a potential client.

Weatherfield Police are said to be 'looking into' whomever made the call, but we here at the Recorder wont hold our breath. However, the police also sent out a reminder that swatting, the act of making a false claim about a firearm, is a serious crime, which can lead to a life sentence, depending on the severity of the incident.

From the Ashes

Like a Pheonix, the Weatherfield Recorder rises from the ashes. Quite literally! For those of you out there in Weatherfield who are unaware, our previous editor-in-chief, and owner, did a runner over ten years ago, after running up debts with some local loanshark. That loanshark then went on to burn down our offices on the Queens Shopping Precinct, close by to Freshcos.

What ensued was a prolonged ten year battle to gain control of the beleaguered newspaper company. Though the Gazette once held the rights to the Weatherfield, it seems our previous owner bought them back at some point in time. At this point you may be expecting that we indeed managed to regain the rights to the company, but alas, we didn't. However, we were permitted to use the name 'Weatherfield Recorder' for a local news online coverage site.

So here we are, in a small corner of Inkerman Street, next door to a disused public house, that has also seen its fair share of flames. However, with time, we hope to grow into the No.1 Weatherfield News site like we were so long ago!

To the future!
